  • What fabric is available and what are they for?

  • Heavy-Duty Vinyl (40 oz. Vinyl) is the choice of professionals such as kennels, veterinarians and animal shelters who need the most sustainable finish. This fabric offers the most wear resistance of all the fabrics we offer. The smooth, non-porous surface allows easy cleaning. In the case of rain, a puddle of water will remain on it due to the water resistance.

    Woven Nylon (Cordura) has a special coating to prevent stains. This hard-wearing woven nylon has the feel and texture of traditional canvas. Cordura is similar to fabric for backpacks. It feels soft but also offers an excellent grip for the older dog when getting up.

    Outdoor Mesh (Vinyl Weave) is very suitable for outdoor use. The open, waterproof fabric allows air and water to pass. It helps your dogs to stay dry and cool. This fabric is often used outdoors or in a warm climate where air circulation is a pre. This fabric is excellent for incontinence dogs and dogs that just had surgery. Vinyl Weave is not recommended for dogs that dig. Vinyl Weave is the only fabric that is not covered by our 1-year warranty scheme.

  • What are the differences between the frames?

  • Our patented PVC bed frame is made of furniture quality PVC tubes. A hard-shiny finish on the outside and white material on the inside. The white inside provides firmness and the hard smooth outside gives the whole a nice finish.

    The finish has a glossy layer that is extremely resistant to damage from cleaning products and UV rays from the sun. Due to the composition of our PVC, the Almond bed is resistant to frequent, intensive use and all-weather conditions. Our PVC Walnut beds are suitable for indoor use.

    The aluminium frame not only looks incredibly beautiful, but it is also very solid because it is made of so-called 'aircraft grade' aluminium. The frame is lightweight, resistant to all weather conditions and use by even the heaviest dogs.

  • Does the Kuranda dog bed provide orthopaedic support?

  • The Kuranda bed creates the best orthopaedic support of all dog beds. Unlike other beds, baskets, or pillows - which give uneven pressure on the joints - the Kuranda orthopaedic dog bed supports the entire body, making the pressure distribution optimal.

    Therefore, veterinarians advise Kuranda to prevent or alleviate joint-related problems. In addition, the Kuranda dog bed prevents unsightly eel stains on your dog's elbows, heels, and hips.

    The bed has a beneficial effect in arthritis and older pets. The Kuranda dog bed with Vinyl Weave fabric is the perfect choice for incontinence dogs and dogs recovering from surgery.

  • How do you compare a Kuranda dog bed with other dog beds?

  • That is not possible. At Kuranda dog beds, all aspects of dog welfare have really been considered.

    The legs under the frame allow air to circulate under the fabric. For example, the bed is warmer when it is cold but as soon as the temperature rises the space under the bed provides ventilation.

    Beanbags or blankets absorb moisture and are thus literally a hotbed of pathogens and nasty smells. The fabrics of the Kuranda bed are hardly susceptible to this; especially the Heavy-Duty Vinyl (40 oz. Vinyl) which is even totally insensitive to it.

  • What does guaranteed bite resistant mean?

  • Our Kuranda dog beds are guaranteed to be bite resistant up to one year from the date of purchase.

    We guarantee the structural integrity of the frames and fabrics of our beds. Parts and fabrics will be replaced free of charge during this period if they have become unusable. This warranty also includes the broken corner pieces and legs by chewing.

    Fabrics covered by this warranty are our Vinyl 40 oz and Cordura nylon. If these fabrics for the same bed needs to be replaced several times in a one-year time frame, we will jointly look for a solution (and we will offer your dog a contract as Kuranda tester). The Vinyl Weave fabric is not covered by our bite warranty.

  • Leave the assessment of Kuranda dog beds to the experts. See for yourself how your dog decides on your purchase. We expect you both to be as satisfied as anyone else.

    However, you can return the bed - regardless of why - at least within 14 days of the purchase date. Only the costs for the return is on your behalf.

  • Where can I order parts?

  • With us. Kuranda Europe. In our warehouse in Kampen (The Netherlands) we always keep a large stock of all the parts and fabrics.

  • Can I replace the fabric?

  • Yes, the fabric can also be replaced as a loose part. For example, you can even temporarily use a different fabric, for example in the summer when the vinyl weave provides more ventilation and cooling.

  • Can I wash the Fleece Pads in the washing machine?

  • Enjoy luxury and stay clean and healthy! Kuranda Fleece Pads are made for machine washing. Our advice: Washing machine at 30 degrees. No bleaching, not in the dryer & no ironing.

  • Can the Kuranda bed be used outside?

  • Yes, Kuranda beds are ideal for outdoor use. PVC Almond and Aluminium frames are resistant to all weather types and frequent cleaning. UV resistant finish prevents discoloration of the frame and the stainless mounting material is durable.

    We offer different fabric choices for outdoor use. The vinyl weave is air and water permeable and that makes it extremely suitable for outdoor use. The heavy-duty vinyl (40 oz Vinyl) is waterproof and is easy to dry with a sponge or towel. Cordura Nylon gets wet but dries quickly.

  • Are Kuranda beds easy to clean?

  • Kuranda dog beds are easily cleaned with a sponge. The entire bed can even be sprayed outside or in the shower with soap and water. Vacuuming and mopping under the bed are quite easy due to the elevation.
